For marketing teams
Meet the DMARC rules for bulk senders
Google, Yahoo and Microsoft ask bulk senders for a DMARC record. Mailmoni gives you one, and shows whether the mail your newsletter tool sends as you passes DMARC.
Starter covers 1 domain and needs no card. Pro covers 5 domains for 5.90 EUR a month.
1 source is unidentified, 0.5 percent of your mail.
| Source | Messages | Passes DMARC | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Microsoft 365Mailbox provider | 9,402 | 100 % | Fine |
| MailchimpMarketing platform | 270 | 0 % | Needs attention |
| ProcountorBusiness tool | 218 | 100 % | Fine |
| 203.0.113.7Single address | 46 | 0 % | Unknown |
What Mailmoni writes
MailchimpNeeds attention
Turn on custom DKIM and a custom bounce domain for example.com in Mailchimp.
What goes wrong
How a campaign fails DMARC without the team noticing
-
The platform signs with its own domain
Mailchimp signs your campaigns with its own domain until you turn on DKIM for yours. Until then, every campaign fails DMARC.
-
More than one tool sends as you
The newsletter goes out through one platform and the shop's order mail through another. Each one has to be set up for your domain on its own.
-
Open rates do not show it
Opens and clicks do not say whether a campaign passed DMARC. The reports that Gmail, Yahoo and Outlook send do.
What Mailmoni shows you
Each sending tool as one source, before and after the fix
The Mailchimp row once DKIM is on for example.com
| Source | Messages | Status |
|---|---|---|
| MailchimpMarketing platform | 270 | Fine |
What Mailmoni writes
DKIM passes with selector k2 and aligns with example.com. SPF passes for mail74.suw13.rsgsv.net, which is Mailchimp's bounce domain, so it does not count for DMARC. This is normal for Mailchimp. Nothing to do.
-
One row for each sending tool
Mailmoni shows each sending service as one source, with how much of its mail passes DMARC and the setting to change. When a pass does not count, because it is for the platform's own domain, the sentence says so.
-
An alert when a new tool appears
From the Pro plan up, you get an email when a new service sends as you, or when less of your mail passes DMARC. From the Teams plan up, the alert can also go to Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord or another chat tool.
-
The day a fix took effect
The domain page charts how much of your mail passes DMARC over time, so you see the change from one campaign to the next.
What you do
The DNS records, then the settings in each tool
-
Publish the DMARC record
Mailmoni gives you a DMARC record that asks mailbox providers for reports. It does not change how your mail is delivered. Google, Yahoo and Microsoft all accept p=none, which only asks for reports. A second record, for TLS reports, can go in the same change.
-
Turn on DKIM in each tool
Each known service that fails gets the change to make in it. Setup guides for services such as Mailchimp go through it step by step.
-
Check the next campaign
Mailbox providers report on each day's mail, usually within 24 to 48 hours. The next campaign shows up in those reports, with whether it passed.
Which plan fits
Starter for the domain, Teams for the team
Starter covers 1 domain with its subdomains, so a newsletter sent from news.example.com counts as part of example.com. It has 1 member.
Teams sends alerts and summaries to the chat your team reads. It keeps 25 months of history, so this year's campaigns sit beside last year's.
Teams
99 EUR a year
8.25 EUR a month when paid yearly. 9.90 EUR a month when paid monthly.
- It includes 10 domains. Each extra domain costs 1 EUR a month.
- It keeps 25 months of history.
- It has 15 members.
Everything in Pro, and:
- Alerts also go to Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord, Google Chat, Mattermost, Telegram or a webhook.
- A summary by email every day, week or month, as each member chooses.
- The full API, with webhooks, Prometheus metrics and an MCP server.
- It checks DNS every hour.
Questions marketing teams ask
Do the bulk sender rules apply to us?
Since February 2024, Google requires a DMARC record from domains that send about 5,000 or more messages a day to personal Gmail accounts. Since May 2025, Microsoft asks the same of domains that send more than 5,000 messages a day to Outlook.com, Hotmail and Live addresses. Yahoo requires one from bulk senders and names no number.
What Google, Yahoo and Microsoft ask of senders Google's email sender guidelines
We send from a subdomain such as news.example.com. Is that another domain?
No. Subdomains that appear in reports show up by themselves. They need no verification and do not count toward your plan's domains.
Does Mailmoni check unsubscribe links or spam rates?
No. The aggregate reports hold counts and results, not the messages, so unsubscribe links and spam rates are outside what Mailmoni sees. Your newsletter tool and Google Postmaster Tools show those.
