Visma Netvisor: DKIM and SPF setup

Before you start

Netvisor's instructions are written in Finnish, with English versions. This guide gives the Finnish menu names in quotes and the English ones from Netvisor's English page.

Netvisor says every message it sends, including sales invoices and payment reminders, has Netvisor's own address noreply@netvisor.fi as the sender address. For sales ledger mail, the sender name is your company's name. Netvisor sends through Amazon SES.

So Netvisor's mail does not carry example.com in its From address. DMARC reports cover mail by its From domain, so Netvisor's mail is not in the reports sent to your reporting address.

Turn on DKIM

There is nothing to set up for example.com. Netvisor says it signs its messages with DKIM itself, and that only Netvisor holds the signing key. Netvisor's pages describe no setting for signing with your own domain, and no records to add to example.com.

The setting that does use your address is the reply address. Your customers' replies, and Netvisor's error messages about failed invoice deliveries, go to it. Set it in "Myynti > Perustiedot ja asetukset > Sähköpostien saateviestit > Lähettäjän sähköpostiosoite" (Sales > Basic data and settings > Email cover messages > Sender's email address). Netvisor's pages also give the path "Myynti > Asetukset > Laskutuksen asetukset > Sähköpostien saateviestit" (Sales > Settings > Invoicing settings > Email cover messages) for the same setting. Enter one address only.

Sign with your own domain

Netvisor's pages describe no way to send or sign as example.com. Netvisor mail is sent as noreply@netvisor.fi and signed by Netvisor.

If reports for example.com show mail identified as Netvisor, look at the headers of such a message to see which service sent it. For mail problems, Netvisor's support address is tuki.netvisor@visma.com.

SPF

Netvisor's pages name no SPF include for example.com. Netvisor publishes SPF for its own domain, and its mail is sent as noreply@netvisor.fi, so an entry in the SPF record of example.com has no effect on it.

Check it worked

  1. In "Sähköpostien saateviestit" (Email cover messages), "Lähettäjän sähköpostiosoite" (Sender's email address) holds one address at example.com. Without it, Netvisor cannot send you error messages about failed invoice deliveries.
  2. If a customer does not receive Netvisor's mail, Netvisor suggests that they allow mail from noreply@netvisor.fi, and check any separate spam filter or relay server.

Netvisor's pages: Sähköpostiviestintä Netvisorissa (in English) and Myyntilaskujen lähettäminen sähköpostilla.
