How-to guides
Each guide covers one task from start to finish. Pick the one that matches what you want to do.
- Fix a source that fails DMARC
Open the failing source, read why its mail fails DMARC and what to change, then follow the guide for that service. The next reports show the result.
- Give a source a name of your own
An admin can name any source, such as an office server we can only show by its address. Where the name shows, and what it changes in readiness.
- Move to a stricter DMARC policy from the readiness page
When the readiness page says the domain is ready, publish the next DMARC policy step from it. What each step does, and how to step back if mail suffers.
- Ask someone else to make the change
Four messages to copy and send, to whoever runs your DNS, your web agency, your email platform's support, and your staff before a stricter DMARC policy.
- Make the readiness rule stricter or looser
An admin can change the numbers in a domain's readiness rule on its Readiness page. Each field's range, and what subdomains and lower plans use.
- Turn alerts on or off, and change when they fire
Each domain has one rule per kind of alert. Admins turn each one on or off on every plan. Higher plans also set thresholds and send alerts to chat.
- Send alerts to Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord, Google Chat, Mattermost, Telegram or PagerDuty
An admin adds a shared channel on the notifications page. What to paste for each service, how to test it, when messages arrive and what a failure does.
- Get a summary by email, and choose how often
Each member picks their own summary of the organization's domains on the notifications page. What it covers, when it comes, and on which plans.
- Send summaries to people outside the organization
An admin can email the organization's summary to people without an account, such as a CEO or a client. How they confirm, what they get and how it stops.
- Stop or restart alert and summary emails
Every alert email and summary ends with a link that stops it, and the notifications page starts it again. Who gets what by default, and how often.
- Read a report and download its raw file
Open any report a mailbox provider sent about your domain. Read it parsed, see its file as it arrived, or download the file and the original email.
- Read your TLS reports
What the TLS-RPT page shows, what each failure type means for mail coming in to you, when the TLS failures alert fires and which MTA-STS checks help.
- Choose how forensic reports are stored
Forensic reports can hold addresses and subjects. An admin chooses to store them with personal data removed, in full, or not at all.
- Export reports and records
Export a window of a domain's report records as CSV or NDJSON, or its report files as a zip, from the reports page. We email you a link when it is ready.
- Forward every report to another address
Forward each new aggregate and TLS report to a second address, such as another DMARC tool. How the recipient confirms, what arrives, what pauses it.
- Share a read-only link to a domain
Show a client or a consultant one domain without an account. What the link shows and never shows, when it expires, and how to replace or turn it off.
- Invite members and change roles
An admin invites a colleague by email and picks their role. Who counts toward the plan's members, and how to change a role, remove someone or leave.
- Change your language, time zone or email address
Set the language of your pages and emails, the time zone for your dates and times, and the address you sign in with. Admins also set a default language.
- Set up two-step sign-in and passkeys
Add an authenticator app or a passkey, so a stolen password cannot open your account. Recovery codes, passkey sign-in, and what to do if you lose them.
- Buy or change a paid plan
An admin buys a paid plan by card under Plan and billing, switches between monthly and yearly, moves up or down, or cancels. What each step costs.
- What happens when you move to a lower plan
Features stop the day the plan changes. Domains, members and history stay for 14 days, then the lower plan's limits apply. What is kept, and how to return.
- Invoices, credit notes and VAT
Where admins find every invoice and credit note, what an invoice shows, how the billing details and a VAT number set the VAT, and how to save a PDF.
- Change the card you pay with
Give a new card on Mollie's page, which charges nothing. When the new card takes over, what the page shows meanwhile, and the email before a card expires.
- When a card payment fails
The plan stays while we try the card again. The retry days, the emails, Pay now, changing the card, and what happens if the last attempt fails too.
- Download all your organization's data
An admin downloads one zip with every report as it arrived, its XML, records, forensic and TLS reports, and the settings. What is in it, and what is not.
- Remove a domain you no longer use
What stops at once when an admin removes a domain, when its reports and files are deleted, and what to change in its DNS records afterwards.
- Delete the organization or your account
Deleting the organization stops access and report intake at once, and its data is deleted 30 days later. How to delete your own account.
