Share a read-only link to a domain
From Pro up
An admin can make a link that shows one domain to anyone who has it, without signing in. Open the domain, then its Sharing page, and select Create link on the Share link card. The person sees the domain's overview, sources and DNS checks, and nothing else.
What the link shows
- The domain's overview.
- Its sources, and each source's own page.
- Its DNS checks.
The link never shows reports, records, alerts, members or the reporting address. Any other address under the link answers that the page does not exist. The visitor can read, and cannot change anything.
If the person needs the reports too, invite them as a viewer instead.
Make the link
- Open the domain, then Sharing. Only admins see this page. A subdomain has no link of its own: share its main domain.
- On the Share link card, choose when the link expires: never, or after 7 days, 30 days or 90 days.
- Select Create link.
- Select Copy and send the URL to the person.
Each domain has one link. The card shows when it expires and when it was last opened. Anyone with the URL can open it, so send it only to the people who should see the domain.
Replace it or turn it off
- Replace with a new URL makes a new URL, with a new expiry. The old URL stops working at once.
- Turn off shows a paused page at the URL from then on. To share again, create a new link. The old URL does not come back.
When a link expires, its URL shows a page that says so. Replace the URL to share again.
What the visitor sees
- The pages are in the organization's default language, which an admin sets under Settings, Organization.
- Search engines are told not to index them, and the URL is not passed on to other sites.
- The link can be opened at most 300 times an hour. After that, visitors see a page that asks them to try again in the next hour.
- If the domain is removed, the link stops working.
If the plan changes
On a plan without share links, visitors see a paused page. The link is kept, and the same URL works again from Pro up. An admin can turn the link off on any plan.
