Make the readiness rule stricter or looser
From Pro up
From Pro up, an admin can change the numbers in a domain's readiness rule. Open the domain's Readiness page. At the bottom is the Thresholds card. Change the fields you want and press Save thresholds. We work readiness out again at once, for the domain and its subdomains, and use the new numbers from then on.
The fields and their ranges
Each field takes a value within its range, and the form says when a value is outside it. The rule explains what each number does.
| Field | Default | Range |
|---|---|---|
| Pass rate a source needs, in percent | 98 | 90–100 |
| Share of your mail that makes a source count, in percent | 1 | 0.1–5 |
| Messages that make a source count | 50 | 10–1,000 |
| Share unidentified sources may send, in percent | 1 | 0–5 |
| Days the rule looks back | 14 days | 7–30 days |
| Days with reports needed | 7 days | 3–30 days |
The days with reports needed cannot be more than the days the rule looks back.
Which way to move them
The rule gets stricter when you:
- raise the pass rate a source needs
- lower the share or the message count that makes a source count, so that smaller sources must pass too
- lower the share unidentified sources may send
- raise the days with reports needed.
Moving a number the other way makes the rule looser. A longer look-back judges more days of mail at once.
Subdomains
A subdomain uses the numbers of its domain. Its own Readiness page says where they are set, and Go to its readiness page takes you there.
Who sees what
Only admins can change the numbers. Every member sees the rule with its current numbers on the same page. On a plan without your own thresholds, the card names the plan that has them.
On a lower plan
If the organization moves to a plan without your own thresholds, every domain follows the default rule again. Your numbers stay saved. Readiness uses them again if the organization moves back to a plan that has them. What happens when you move to a lower plan lists what else changes.
