Read a report and download its raw file
On every plan
Open the domain, go to Reports and open a report by the name of the mailbox provider that sent it. Each report has three tabs: Parsed, Raw and Download. Any member can read and download every report, on every plan, for as long as your history keeps it.
Find the report
Reports lists the aggregate reports mailbox providers sent about the domain in the window, newest first. Three filters sit above the list:
- Window: Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last 90 days, Last 365 days, This month or Last month. The page opens on Last 30 days.
- From: one From domain, such as a subdomain.
- Reporter: one mailbox provider.
A window that reaches further back than your history shows the days your history keeps, and the page says how far back that is.
Read it
- Parsed opens with a sentence that sums the report up: how many messages it covers and on which day, how many passed DMARC, and where most of the failing mail came from, and whether the provider refused it or sent it to spam. Then it shows who sent the report, its ID and period, and the policy the mailbox provider found in your DNS. Below that is every record: the source, the number of messages, what the provider did with them, and whether SPF and DKIM aligned. Each record opens to show its authentication results and our explanation.
- Raw shows the file itself, laid out for reading. It shows the first 2.0 MB. For a larger file, download it.
Download it
The Download tab offers two files:
- Download the report: the file the mailbox provider attached, exactly as it arrived, in XML or JSON.
- Download the original message: the whole email the report came in, headers included, as an
.emlfile.
TLS reports have the same three tabs, under TLS-RPT. To download many reports at once, see Export reports and records.
How long reports stay
Each night we delete the reports, and their files, that are older than your plan's history:
- Starter: 30 days
- Pro: 13 months
- Teams: 25 months
- Enterprise: 37 months
